The Bratislava district of Karlova Ves plans to build a marina in the Karloveské branch of the Danube. With valid construction permit now in hand, the district hopes it will be able to foot the bill for the project by using revenues from the sale of land along the Karloveská branch. The City of Bratislava sold the land to J&T Real Estate, which has completed the first phase of its residential project Karloveské rameno. The city sold the 5,600 sqm site to the developer at €837,000 in 2007. It’s estimated that the cost of the marina will reach €735,000. The district now plans to launch a tender for the construction company and hopes that work on the marina could start in autumn 2016, or by next spring and that the facility could be ready to open by the summer of 2018.
