Nine Portuguese construction companies are moving into Ivory Coast’s market, which is seen as one of the most promising countries in West Africa with almost 23 million consumers. In the second Portuguese mission to be organized in the country, the Business Association of Portugal (AEP) has put together an event targeting major investments in infrastructure and industrialization of the country. In 2015, Portuguese exports of goods and services to that market came to €40.5m. Places to be visited by the mission include the cities of Abidjan, Grand-Bassam, Yamoussoukro (the political and administrative capital) and Bouaké. “This mission is doubly important to us. The main objective is to do business, but the AEP also intends to give a commitment to sign with the positive developments that bilateral institutional and economic relationship has known since the democratic standards of a country with a great future and that Portugal only has advantages have a permanent diplomatic representation,” says Paulo Nunes de Almeida, president of AEP.
