House prices in Portugal among lowest in Europe

The Global Property Guide highlights the Portuguese real estate market, claiming that the market is rebounding as prices rise. According to its newest report, house prices in Portugal are rising quickly, as the economy recovers, with price tags up 3.66 percent in January 2016 compared to the previous year, reaching an average price of €1,047 per square meter. After more than three years of recession, house prices in Portugal began to recover in 2014. It also states that prices of Portuguese real estate are exceptionally low in European terms. Interest rates on loans have been falling, reaching a low of 1.2 percent in January 2016, having been set at 1.34 percent in January 2015 and 1.43 percent in January 2014.
