Warsaw’s district court postponed proceedings against the Russian Embassy on Monday indefinitely, after the city hall billed the Russians for nearly PLN 9m for using its building in Warsaw at Bobrowieckiej 2b between 2009 and 2015. It’s the third claim submitted by the city against Russians by the city of Warsaw concerning alleged illegal use of the city’s properties. The two others are located Kieleckiej and Sobieskiego streets.
The Russian Federation is using a number of properties in Poland, a spokeswoman for general prosecutor told the Polish Press Agency PAP, who is representing city hall. Most of them have a clear legal status, except for the premises in Warsaw and Gdańsk, which are both charged by the city’s officials, and who claim that Russia is failing to settle its payments.
An extended controversy has emerged on how to charge the diplomatic missions between Russia and Poland.
