The Fladgate Partnership group has acquired the Hotel Infante Sagres in the city of Porto. The group, which owns the wine houses of Porto Taylor’s, Fonseca, Croft and Crohn’s is planning a series of investments to ensure that the hotel retains its status as one of the best 5-star hotels in the city, but it hasn’t released the volume of these improvements yet. Hotel Infante Sagres was opened in 1951 and was the first luxury hotel in the city of Porto. It’s hosted famous world figures and stars such as the Dalai Lama, the Kings of Norway, Bob Dylan, Catherine Deneuve, Prince Edward of England, John Malkovich and the rock band U2. The Fladgate Partnership also re-opened the Vintage House (also a luxury hotel) in Pinhão in April after a two-month period of renovations.
