JK Moving Services buys land for new HQ near Washington Dulles airport

7 April 2016

JK Moving Services has acquired a 42 acre tract of land for the construction of a new corporate campus in Loudoun County, Virginia. The site fronts VA Route 606, between VA Route 28 and Shaw Road near the Washington Dulles International Airport. With a purchase price of $14 million, the land traded for $333,333 per acre. The company intends to build a $55 million headquarters comprised of four 110,000 sqf warehouse buildings along with an 80,000 sqf office building. The company expects to add 150 employees to its current staff of more than 700 workers for the new facility. The property formerly functioned as a horse farm.

“This new site is ideal on a number of economic and marketing levels, led by its immediately proximity to Washington Dulles International Airport…coupled with the unparalleled roadside visibility the corporate campus will offer,” explained Chuck Kuhn, President of JK Moving Services. He said avoiding disruption to the company’s workforce was a priority in choosing the location and that they would benefit from shorter commutes and lower toll charges.
