The unemployment rate in the month of February 2016 remained unchanged at 6.5 percent in January, but compared to a year ago, it’s down 0.3 percent. The unemployment rate for men was 1.2 percentage points higher than for women.
The number of unemployed people aged 15-74 years in February is estimated to be 597,000, a fall from January, when it was 604,000 people, and from February 2015. (626,000). The number of unemployed people aged 25-74 years represents 77.3 percent of the total number of unemployed estimated for the month of February 2016.
