Construction of Dream Island, a children’s theme park, has begun on the Nagatinsky plain to the south of Moscow. The investment into the park is expected to reach RUB 50bn with the opening currently scheduled for 2018. It’s being built on the site of the 60th Anniversary of October park along the Disneyland model but with more of a Russian flavor.
Dream Island will include the Soyuzmultfilm Studio, along with an indoor park and a promenade, multiplex cinema, kids cafes, stores for children and families and of course toys. In addition to the open air recreation area and an indoor theme complex, there will be a concert hall, a hotel and a children’s sailing school. The total area is 264,300 sqm, of which 48,300 sqm will be underground. Railway and metro stations will take visitors to the park.
