Ghelamco Poland has called on the local Jewish Theatre to leave its newly acquired building on Grzybowska street in Warsaw’s CBD. Under an agreement concluded last year with the Social-Cultural Association of Jews, Ghelamco pledged to renovate the Warsaw premises of the Jewish Theatre and the Social-Cultural Association of Jews in Poland. As a strategic investor in the Grzybowska scheme, Ghelamco will cover all costs related to the renovation of the new Theater, in work that it’s estimated will cost PLN 63m, plus additional fit-out costs of PLN 13m.
“Having acquired the property located at Grzybowska 12/16 street in Warsaw, Ghelamco has conducted all required inspections and expertises in the building… As a result, it’s been found that technical of the electrical installations in the building is a fire hazard,” wrote Ghelamco in an official statement. In it, the developed said that no more public events should be held in the building until the fire hazards in it were eliminated.
