Centrop decided to dust off its Central European Valley project, which it put on hold after the financial crisis hit. The project Centrop presented eight years ago at MIPIM foresaw the development of a new neighborhood on the northwestern outskirts of Bratislava, including homes for 60,000 as well as a technology park, a logistics park, offices, shops and a golf course. The developer has since downsized the project. It now plans to develop an industrial park across 70 ha of land in the first phase. The land is adjacent the Volkswagen production plant and could accommodate automotive suppliers, according to Michal Smolec, the project manager at Centrop. However, changes will have to be made to the master plan, which could take another two years. Centrop may add affordable housing in the second phase.
