This is backed up by reports that Spain accounted for just under half (46 percent) of all enquiries received by overseas mortgage specialists Conti during 2015. British investors have become more ambitious thanks to low mortgage rates, the strong British pound and renewed optimism among buyers. Spain remains the most popular destination for Brits looking to buy property abroad. They especially prefer areas such as Javea in Costa Blanca, which enjoys more hours of sunshine per year than anywhere else in the country.
