WSE re-launches work on creation of Polish REIT structure

8 March 2016

The Warsaw Stock Exchange has re-launched work to create the legal and regulatory framework that would make possible the creation of real estate investment trusts (REITs), the propertynews website reports. The WSE’s press officer explained that the new real estate investment vehicles could manage their own portfolios independently, or could use the services of a specialized partners. They would be obligated to pay out regular dividends equal to at least 80 percent of the fund’s profits, while providing regular taxes to the state budget.

WSE representatives say they’re considering which REIT model currently used in Western Europe to implement in Poland, adding that potential steps are being consulted with key market participants.
