According to a statement from the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. the greater Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area added 38,200 jobs between the fourth quarter of 2014 and the fourth quarter of 2015. With that 3.1 percent increase in the number of jobs, the Tampa metro area tops the list of industry employment growth in Florida. The figure also marks a 138 percent jump over the same period from 2013 to 2014, when the Tampa workforce grew by just 14,900 jobs, a 1.3% increase. With an increase of .06 percent from the third to the fourth quarter of 2015, the Tampa metro area outpaced other metro areas like Atlanta, New York and Orlando according to the report.
