29 February 2016

AEP – Associação Empresarial de Portugal (Business Association of Portugal) is carrying out a a trade mission to Cuba in a search for business opportunities. The Cuban market is now poised to take off following the lifting of the US-led embargo of the country. Eleven 11 Portuguese companies that were chosen to take part in the mission are made up primarily by construction companies. “Our choice was to come early as possible and be the first to take the opportunity to strengthen the economic relationships between the two countries,” said the president of AEP, Paulo Nunes de Almeida. The AEP believes that Portugal companies and industries are in a prime position to enter in Cuba, especially those producing building materials, renewable energy, waste treatment facilities, and even hospital medical equipment.
