The Municipality of Sintra has scheduled the sale of the historic Hotel Netto March 10. The old hotel, now in ruins, goes to a public tender with a minimum value of €1m (with a 10 percent discount possible to a cash buyer). The buyer will be expected to carry out the hotel’s renovation to make it into a luxury hotel. The Mayor of Sintra, Basilio Horta, hopes that the completion of reconstruction work on the facility can be completed in 2018. The new owners will have to preserve the original façade of the building, which dates back to the 19th century. The building has been in ruins for decades and was acquired by the Sintra in 2014.
