Kion Group has opened a new plant in the Czech Republic. The facility was developed by Panattoni in cooperation with Accolade in Ostrov u Stříbra near Pilsen. The plant in Stříbro is Kion’s third site in the Czech Republic, as it already operates Linde Pohony (steering columns production) in Český Krumlov and Juli, an electric motor production center in Brno. The new 24,000 sqm plant in Stříbro should produce 12,000 trucks annually for Linde and it currently employs 150 people. Kion invested €14m into plant’s fitout. Kion Group CEO Gordon Riske says Kion chose Stříbro because it can service clients in CEE as well as in southern Europe from the location. Linde’s core plant in Aschaffenburg is also just a few hundred kilometers away.
