Slovakia attracts increasing interest from both developers and occupiers of logistic warehouses. Thirteen new projects have added 147,685 sqm of warehouse space to the country’s total stock over the past few months, according to CBRE Slovakia, bringing the total volume to 1,670,000 sqm. Developers have begun some of the projects speculatively, noticing the current vacancy level of 3 percent with space leasing quickly during construction. The last quarter of 2015 saw the completion of four new buildings with 52,000 sqm, the majority of which was built by VGP for Volkswagen in Malacky. P3, Prologis and CTP are the most active players in the Slovak logistics sector and owners of half of all logistic space in Slovakia. 400,000 sqm were leased, with two thirds of the total being new leases. Faurencia’s lease in Lozorno was the biggest transaction.
