Metrostav is having greater success abroad than at home at the moment, according to idnes.cz. One third of company’s income is generated abroad, writes the server. The Czech construction company has won a tender to build a 20 km stretch of motorway in Poland, leading from the southern end of the Gdansk bypass to Nowy Dwór Gdanski. Metrostav has won contracts recently in Scandinavia, Germany, Poland and Hungary and plans to return to Byelorussia. Currently Metrostav is competing to build an under-sea roundabout in the Faroe Islands. It also has expansion plans in Turkey, having established a joint venture with the local construction company Ankara Insaat.
