About 200,000 sqm of new office projects are under construction in Bulgaria, according to Forton, the Bulgarian partner of the global consulting company Cushman & Wakefield. However, only 70,000 sqm of the total is expected to be completed in 2016, and nearly half of this is located in small buildings or are BTS projects. The larger projects underway aren’t expected to be completed until the first half of 2017.
In 2015, over 105,000 sqm of new office space was completed in Bulgaria. The average office lease deal in 2015 rose to over 1,200 sqm as BPO and IT sector companies are growing. In addition to Sofia’s growing office sector, the markets in towns such as Plovdiv, Varna and Burgas are also expected to remain active.
