Infineon Technologies agrees record lease at Novo Park in Bucharest

26 January 2016

Infineon Technologies Romania, the local branch of the German semiconductor developer and manufacturer, signed a 7-year lease with Novo Park, an office park owned by Genesis Development. This brings the total duration of the lease to an unprecedented 19 years. The extension was signed two years before the previous one expired and is valid until 2024.

Infineon Technologies Romania has been operating in Romania since 2005, when it took just 2,300 sqm in Novo Park in northern Bucharest. Through subsequent renewals and extension, the company eventually came to occupy 7,500 sqm, the entire BC building in Novo Park.

ā€œAfter the record lease we registered with Hewlett-Packard for a total of 18 years at Novo Park, we had the opportunity to surpass this and establish a new record on the local market, that of a 19-year partnership with Infineon,ā€ said Liviu Tudor, chairman and founder of Genesis Development.

The Novo Park office complex comprises seven buildings with a total leasable area of around 75,000 square meters. The office park was awarded a BREEAM Very Good certificate. Among the international companies based at Novo Park are such names as Hewlett-Packard (HP), Garanti Bank, Ringier, Sodexo, Yokogawa, Luxoft and UniCredit.
