Benzina will expand its network of petrol stations in the Czech Republic to 400. Benzina’s owner, Unipetrol, is buying 68 stations from its competitor, Austrian OMV. If the antimonopoly office greenlights the deal, Benzina will become the leading petrol operator on the Czech market. OMV will drop to fifth position with just 139 petrol stations, ranking behind Benzina, MOL, Eurooil and Shell. Ranked second, MOL currently operates 315 stations in the Czech Republic, having gradually snapped up Pap Oil, Agip and Lukoil. Benzina plans to start rebranding OMV petrol stations this year, with the process to be completed in 2017. The company wants to maintain a 20-percent market share in the Czech Republic.
