The town Belene in northern Bulgaria opened a new €16.8m treatment plant for wastewater. In addition to the plant, the project included the construction of a sewerage system and the renovation of the town’s existing water supply network.
Belene Eco and Team Belene oversaw the construction. Funding was obtained through the EU’s Operational Programme for Environment 2007-2013.
