Serbia has introduced a new system for issuing electronic building permits. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction Zorana Mihajlovic said the software would significantly improve Serbia’s business environment, adding that around 40 candidates have already applied for electronic building permits.
All applications for construction permits will be submitted electronically, and the citizens will be able to apply individually or through authorized project engineers. The software warns officials of the deadlines for resolving applications, and the documents carry digital signatures that should render them impossible to falsify. Germany and Switzerland donated €400,000 for the development of the new system.
