Sibiu City Hall will invest €10m in an aquapark for the city. Interim mayor Astrid Fodor said the municipality had a budget of RON 535.6m for the project, of which RON 170m is earmarked for development.
The aquapark will be built in Padurea Dumbrava and will include a minimum of three outdoor pools, an indoor Olympic pool, skatepark sites, sports fields and parking lots. Fodor said the project would be built in three phases and that it would include at least three pools. “This year will be updating the feasibility study of costs and all indicators,” said Fodor. “I do not want to make statements about the exact costs, but it will be a big amount. I think at least €10m.” Construction should start in September.
