Bulgaria’s minimum wage rises to €215

5 January 2016

The minimum wage in Bulgaria rose to €215 as of January 1 and is set to increase by another €20 in 2017. The minimum hourly salary becomes €1.28 for an eight-hour working day and five-day week.

The increase was mandated in government’s budget for 2016, approved in November 2015. It’s hoped the increase will help reduce poverty and stimulate domestic consumption.
