A circuit court judge has reversed a decision by the Escambia County commission to prohibit short term rentals of homes in residential neighborhoods in the City of Pensacola and in unincorporated Escambia County. The ruling will allow services such as Airbnb, TurnKey and Vacation Rental By Owner to operate in the county. In the judges decision, he stated that the state of Florida prohibits the enactment of local laws and regulations that “can prohibit vacation rentals or regulate the duration or frequency” of such rentals.
