Kostal Bulgaria opened a new production plant in Smolyan. The total investment will reach €19m in total when all work is completed. The new factory offers 100 new jobs. Kostal plans to invest another €7.5 m in modern equipment over the next year, announced the general director of Kostal Andreas Kostal.
The plant is located in the heart of the Bulgarian mountains, producing high-tech automotive parts that are exported worldwide to companies such as Mercedes, Audi, Ford, General Motors. “This new plant will be a good ambassador for new investors to come to the mountain”, said Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, who was present at the opening ceremony.
The company is a subsidiary of the German holding company Kostal. The designer of the reconstruction work of the 5,000 sqm factory was ARCH Feather.
