The greater Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford metropolitan area leads the country in distressed home sales, according to a new report from CoreLogic. It found that 22.7 percent of all home sales in Orlando involved distressed assets, while Florida had two other cities ranked in the top five: Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater (21.5 percent) and Miami-Miami Beach-Kendall (21.2 percent). Distressed sales include real estate-owned properties and short sales. Nationwide, distressed sales accounted for 9.7 percent of total home sales in September, marking a decrease of 2.4 percent.
