The Czech construction sector is expected to slow down over the next two years, with growth estimated at 4.5 percent for 2016 and 3 percent for 2017, according to data published by CEEC Research. The industry is set to post 7.8-percent growth this year, fueled by the effort to tap EU funds for infrastructure projects. In 2016, that funding will dry out. Tomáš Koranda of Hochtief told ihned.cz that the National Motorway and Road Directorate (ŘSD) plans to cut its budget by 30 percent in 2016. Jiří Vacek of CEEC Research believes that private investors will be the main drivers of the construction sector next year.
