Slovak investment group Tatra Mountain Resorts (TMR) is in talks with the city of Liberec to take over the Ještěd ski area. Bohuš Hlavatý, the general director of TMR, told the server idnes.cz that the area has the potential for further development and offers good access from Liberec. The company, which already operates Špindlerův Mlýn, the top ski area in the Czech Republic, is planning to add a new ski lift to connect Pláně and Medvědín in Špindlerův Mlýn to new ski slopes. The project has been halted, however, as the city has not been able to approve a new master plan.
