Four consortiums compete for Bratislava ring road

Four consortiums are bidding in a tender to build and operate the Bratislava ring road. The companies are Via Dunaj, Obchvat Nula, Astrela and a consortium led by Hochtief PPP Solutions. Via Dunaj is led by Vinci Concessions, which partnered with Vinci Highways and Meridiam Eastern Europe. Spanish Citra Infraestructuras Internacional leads Obchvat Nula, in which it’s partnering with Porr and Macquarie Capital Group. Astrela consists of Strabag and Strabag Motorways, Reding Infrastructure and John Laingt Investments while Hochtief PPP Solutions formed a consortium with Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras and Dif Infra PPP 3 Luxembourg.

Slovakia’s Transport Ministry should choose a winner before Christmas. The concession is expected to cost €4.53bn with the state expected to pay the €135m to €151m annually to the licensee. Construction costs are expected to come in at €1.325bn.
