China is interested in building a transport hub in Košice, Slovakia. The project could reduce the time needed to ship goods from China to Europe by one-third. Railway transport is also considered safer than shipping. The chairman of the Slovak commercial and industrial chamber (SOPK), Peter Mihók, unveiled the plan, saying that this is a commercial, not political project, and China is in negotiations with other countries in the CEE region as well.
