According to a new report from Dodge Data & Analytics, overall construction starts in the first nine months of 2015 are up 19 percent in South Florida. Through September, $7.55 billion in projects have started in the tri-county area, with similar numbers across residential and commercial project types. Residential construction starts increased 19 percent to $5 billion while non-residential (commercial, hotel, education, health care and government) grew 20 percent to $2.54 billion.
On the commercial side the numbers are boosted by mega projects such as All Aboard Florida, Brickell City Centre, Panorama Tower in Miami, SoLe Mia in North Miami, and Metropica in Sunrise. Miami World Center and Transit Village in West Palm Beach should begin construction soon.
