Alibaba, Hainan Airlines enter Czech market

More and more Asian businesses are targeting the Czech market. Alibaba, a Chinese e-shop, is planning to open a distribution center in Cheb, North Bohemia and is reportedly interested in buying the Czech electronics e-shop Alza.cz, writes the server lidovky.cz. Hainan Airlines, meanwhile, is in talks to set up a Prague-Shanghai route and is considering direct links to other large Chinese cities. More than 200 Chinese businesses and banks, including the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Bank of China, will attend the Chinese investment forum in Prague on Nov. 9. Korean investors, interested in the automotive industry and nuclear energy, are set to follow China’s lead. Hospodářské noviny writes that unlike the Chinese, Korean investors are interested in smaller businesses. On the other hand, they are expected to submit a bid to expand the Temelín nuclear power plant.
