Erste Group Immorent (EGI) has marked the beginning of construction of the third phase of its office project Futurama Business Park with a cornerstone laying ceremony. Strabag began work on the project in July 2015 and completion is scheduled in July 2016. Building F will add a further 10,000 sqm of leasable office space to the business park, bringing the total office area to 40,000 sqm. EGI claims the new building will have near zero energy consumption thanks to implementation of special technologies and geothermal drills. Director of EGI Tomáš Velemínský says construction started without a pre-lease thanks to in-house financing from Erste Group Bank, and that the decision was triggered by the need for expansion space from existing tenants in Futurama.
