The Prague city council rejected zoning changes for a few sites in Trojmezí, where a developer wanted to build flats, shops and services. Matěj Stropnický, the deputy mayor for city planning, told the daily Metro that the city wants Trojmezí to remain recreational green area. While admitting that the city does not own all the land in the area belonging to Prague 10, 11 and 15, Stropnický said he plans to present a proposal within the next six months under which the city will be able to prevent construction in Trojmezí.
City councilors also rejected master plan changes for Prague 4 near the Opatov metro station and Háje near Hostivař park. The city also resolved a dispute over development plans at Džbán lake in Prague 6, ruling that the area should be kept as recreational space.
