The Slovak daily Trend is reporting that tenants in the Apollo 1 office building in Bratislava are being forced to vacate before Saturday. The building, developed by HB Reavis and sold to Hannover Leasing in 2006 was found to be defective and in danger of collapse. The 30,000 sqm office building houses the headquarters of National Motorway Association, the Ministry of Agriculture as well as companies like Accenture and Citibank. Static experts have found that some structures in the building are substantially overloaded. The building will close for a few months and could reopen in early 2016. Tenants are looking for alternative space.
Michal Donath, the spokesman for Hannover Leasing, told Trend Reality that the owner of the building is in negotiations with tenants about potential compensation. JĆ”n TomÄĆ”ni was responsible for the statics of the building as well as a few other projects in Bratislava, which reported problems later on, including Apollo BC2, developed by HB Reavis, and 3nity, which collapsed during construction in 2012.
