Renowned Czech architect Eva Jiřičná designed Novomlýnská, a glazed mixed-use project set to replace the first block of flats on Revoluční street in central Prague. The building will include offices, a café and a gallery. The site’s original little baroque house will be preserved. Jiřičná told the daily Hospodářské noviny that discussions with conservationists and Klub za starou Prahu, which want to preserve the existing buildings on Revoluční, will take time, but she hopes the project will be able to eventually move forward. RSJ Private Equity, owned by Czech billionaires Karel janeček, Libor Winkler and Václav Dejčmar, is the project investor. Costs are expected to hit CZK 400m.
