Sotheby’s International Realty acquires Stirling Sotheby’s franchise

2 October 2015

Naples-based Premier Sotheby’s International Realty (led by former Oviedo Mayor Judy Green) has bought the Heathrow-based Stirling Sotheby’s franchise for an undisclosed price. With this purchase, Premier Sotheby’s will add 90 agents, putting its total at 900 associates throughout central and southwest Florida and in North Carolina. Premier Sotheby’s is the second largest residential real estate brokerage in the Tampa Bay area, with closings of $3.4 billion in 2014. With the acquisition of Stirling Sotheby’s, the company’s sales volume is expected to reach $4.2 billion this year. Stirling Sotheby’s co-founder and owner Roger Soderstrom will remain with the company as a consultant.

“I’ve continually watched Orlando, and the time is right to come into this market,” Green told OBJ. “I have done a complete in-depth market study. I know where I want to focus and where I need to be. I’ve got an opportunity to start with the offices already in place, and this acquisition gives me a footprint into this market.”
