Further construction on D3 section underway

24 September 2015

Work has gotten underway on a new 8 km long section of the D3 motorway between Bošilec and Ševětín in the Českobudějovický region. The project will cost CZK 1.2bn and is scheduled to be opened in 2018. This is the third section of the D3 to begin this year. The EU will foot 80 percent of the bill, according to Czech prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka, who claims the government intends to speed up work on the motorway. All three sections begun this year should be completed in 2018, a section between Bošilec and Veselí nad Lužnicí has been delayed by archeological findings. The by-pass of České Budějovice is the next key phase of D3.
