Czechs in the hunt for new GE engine plant

22 September 2015

GE is considering building a GE Aviation manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic. The US giant would design and develop engines for small planes at the site. GE Aviation spokesman Rick Kennedy told Hospodářské noviny that the company is in negotiations with the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and wants to decide in six months on the location of the CZK 10bn investment. The Czech Republic is a prime candidate for the new plant, as GE already has an aviation production facility in Prague-Letňany, which GE bought from Walter Engines in 2008.
