The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted Poland €940m to fuel research and development in the country. To facilitate the transfer of funds, the Polish Finance Ministry gave a green light to companies with business and research units to apply for the EU subsidies. The program is a part of EU’s “Intelligent Development” initiative for 2014-2020.
“Poland’s economy could benefit from cooperation between science and business representatives who aren’t afraid to take the risk of conducting innovative projects,” said Lena Kolarska-Bobińska Poland’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
“We’ve set the bar quite high for projects which have a chance of making technological breakthroughs in particular sectors,” said Leszek Grabarczyk of Poland’s National Research and Development Centre (NCBiR).
