15 September 2015

The Chinese investment volume in Slovakia is on the rise. While Chinese businesses have invested €40m over the last decade, that number is expected to skyrocket this year. CSR Corporation and CASIC Hiwing Aviation, which entered the Slovak market in 2014, plan to invest €110m into an automotive production plant and create more than 1,000 jobs. China Energy Company Limited (CEFC), which is very active in the Czech Republic, is pouring an additional €700m into the Czech-Slovak financial group J&T, bumping its holding to 30 percent. China National Nuclear Corporation is vying to take over Slovenske elektrarne, while the Chinese producer of LED screens Leyard Europe is investing into a manufacturing plant in Prešov with 100 employees.
