Falkensteiner Group (FMTG) wants to offload three hotels from its portfolio: two in the Austrian Alps and one in Mariánské Lázně in the Czech Republic. Christie + Co. will broker the sales. The hotels offer a total of 500 rooms and can be purchased separately or as a portfolio, on the condition that FMTG will continue to manage them. The package includes the four-star Falkensteiner Club Funimation Katschberg, the five-star Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia in Austria and the four-star Falkensteiner Hotel Grand MedSpa Marienbad in the Czech Republic. Falkensteiner Group is changing its strategy, according to chairman Otmar Michaeler who told Trend.sk that the Austrian company wants to sell off its hotels and lease them back in an effort to expand its market reach. FMTG currently owns and operates 13 hotels in Austria, seven in Italy, two each in Serbia and the Czech Republic and one in Slovakia.
