Lordship has secured a construction permit for the aboveground portion of Palác Stromovka, a mixed-use project on Veletržní street in Prague 7. Lordship previously only had a construction permit for the underground parking garage. The permit was issued by the City of Prague’s construction department. However, Prague 7 officials say that they have not signed off on the project, which is set to go up on a plot Lordship leases from the municipality. Martin Pilka of Lordship says that Prague 7 wants to completely redesign the project, which includes offices and a local shopping center. The municipality insists there must be flats and proposed a plan that would include a housing block with shops on the ground floor. Prague’s hygienic inspectors argue, however, that the location along one of the district’s busiest transport routes is not suitable for flats. The director of Lordship, Václav Matoušek, is hoping to settle the matter and start construction soon. The developer and Prague 7 have been bickering over the project plans for 13 years.
