7 August 2015

JHM Hotels has purchased the Holiday Inn Orlando International Airport. Located at 5750 T.G. Lee Blvd. the 288 room hotel traded for a little more than $14 million. The sale of the hotel was handled by HREC Investment Advisors, which represented the seller, FelCor Lodging Trust. Greenville, S.C.-based JHM Hotels has a total of nine hotels in the Orlando area.

The Orlando International Airport is currently undergoing a $1.8 billion-plus expansion adding a new terminal that will add 24 new gates to serve rising numbers of domestic and international travelers. “The airport market has really caught fire over the past year in light of the continued growth of the Orlando International Airport itself, the economic development in the immediate area and significant demand that is flowing out of the Lake Nona area. Under the new owner’s stewardship, we fully expect the hotel to return to its position as the icon of Orlando-style hospitality for airport travelers,” said Paul Sexton, vice president of HREC’s Orlando office.
