Prologis will develop the European headquarters of the British online retailer AO.com in Bergheim-Paffendorf near Cologne. The scheme will offer 41,000 sqm including more than 36,000 sqm for distribution and 5,000 sqm of administration space. Prologis acquired 84,000 sqm of land for the BTS project: 30,000 sqm came from the City of Bergheim, while 54,000 sqm was purchased from RWE Power. Construction is scheduled to start in the fall, with completion set for 2016.
“For us, it was a significant achievement that RWE Power AG decided to sell this excellent property to Prologis,” said Alexander Heubes, senior vice president and country manager at Prologis. “Thanks to this cooperative settlement, we were able to proceed quickly with project planning.”
