Slovakia has not given up hope that the automobile manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover could still end up choosing it as the location to build its newest production facility. A report in the Sunday Times gave the nod to Poland, whose government has put nearly €600m worth of incentives on the table. Slovakia is making just €425m available to the car giant if it chooses a site prepared in the town of Nitra, and the government claims that negotiations are still underway. The mayor of Nitra refused to comment on the situation, reports the Slovak daily SME, which notes that the Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors is also looking for a new location in Europe.
