In preparation of taking over the EU presidency next year, Bratislava will borrow €7.5m from the Slovak government. The capital will use the money to help finance infrastructure, transport and EU-funded projects within the city. The loan can be used only for projects delivered in 2015. The city will have to spend the whole amount by March 2016. The money has to be paid back by the end of 2018. Slovakia will hold the EU presidency during the second half of 2016.
