PKP eyes Warsaw’s Plac Defilad

1 July 2015

Polish State Railways (PKP) is working to re-lease plots on Warsaw’s Plac Defilad. “We’re working on an agreement with the city hall which will make it possible for us to commercialize the southern part of of this area,” Jarosław Bator, a board member of PKP S.A., said. “We see this significant project as a challenge, but we expect to reach a final arrangement within next couple of months.” Bator admits that PKP hasn’t come up with any specific plan for the plots. “PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe is preparing an in-depth modernization for the tracks between 2018 and 2020. We could combine those two investments, just as we did with the modernization of the railway station in Łódź,” said Bator.
